I guess I could come across as more sophisticated and be taken more seriously if I didn’t wear things like this, but dressing colorfully is too much fun. I recently acquired this skirt by trading in other clothes at Crossroads in Pasadena after realizing I only had 26 skirts in my closet, not counting the ones I’ve decided to sell on Etsy. Yeah, I know. I just had to go on the hunt for more skirts, of course. I started my blog with 29 skirts, and now I have an excuse to maintain that number in my wardrobe.
The other thing about bright and light colors is they’re a lot more comfortable in the Southern California heat. I wore this on Saturday, which was sooo hot, especially in West Covina, Walnut and Pomona, where Jasen and I were hanging out with our friends. We went on a double date to Ikea (don’t judge, it was awesome), had boba tea and walked around the Pomona Arts Colony, stopping by the La Bomba vintage shop where I tried on a romper that belonged at an ’80s barbecue and some midcentury dresses with waists so small I couldn’t zip them up.
That skirt is ADORABLE!! Nice choice and the little gingham top is super cute with it too!
ReplyDeleteThe skirt is adorable! I love the bright colors - it feels so summery. And it's great paired with the gingham top as well. It's a really fun combination.

You look absolutely adorable in this colorful outfit! I always love wearing lots of color so I'm definitely loving this. The two patterns work so well together too.
ReplyDeleteAlso, your new blog layout looks fantastic! The skirt background is super cute.
It's ridiculous that people must wear boring non-colors to be taken seriously. I frequently dress with so much color that it looks like a 2 year old picked out my outfit.
ReplyDeleteI've just changed the way I think about it. I figure, if I wear a cobalt pencil skirt and a red blazer, no one will mess with me. It takes a lot of guts to wear that much color!
PS: I own 23 skirts! Now I have a goal!
Love this outfit, so summer sweet.

ReplyDeleteYou look like summer! I love this outfit from head to toe. Oh and a double date to Ikea sounds awesome. I'm only judging you cause you didnt invite me ;)
ReplyDeleteIt's always a bummer when the perfect vintage dress doesn't fit. But I hope you found some lovely skirts to add to your collection. This one is so cute! Try and stay cool in the summer heat cutie.

ReplyDeleteAlso, maybe I'm late to the party but I've been away for a while, I love the new look of the blog! Again, very colorful and all those skirts around make me smile, so fun!
