Dress: Wear It Well Vintage on Etsy
Shoes: Christian Siriano for Payless
Lipstick: Revlon Smoky Rose

I had this dress on my favorites list for months, and I’m so glad I finally bought it! I love the mix of colors and cute shift silhouette. It’s definitely worth the price and just as described by the seller. I wore it to my cousin’s wedding, and my Aunt Mary told me she used to have a really similar dress when she was younger.

Etsy Update

I recently added a few more items to Pasadena Vintage, so I thought I'd do a quick post. Scroll on down if you're interested!

Betsey Johnson Floral Dress - P-S

Polynesian Print Tank - XS-S

Gap High Waist Denim Shorts - S

Abstract Pattern '80s Sweater - S-M-L

Louis Feraud Pencil Skirt - XS-S

Striped Short Sleeve Top - S-M
Doesn't the last top look like something a character on Freaks and Geeks would wear? That's really tempting me to keep it, so I can't even allow myself to try it on.

Frog Lady

Top: Forever 21
Skirt: thrifted Dana Buchman
Shoes: Target
Lipstick: Revlon Certainly Red

I pretty much love every shade of green, and I’d definitely consider it my favorite color. Does this mean I’m all about nature or money or both? I’m not sure. I used to be obsessed with purple when I was younger, but once I reached my 20s it was green all the way.

This top is so old, especially for something from Forever 21. I’ve had it for about 10 years, after finding it on the sale rack for $7.99. Now that I think of it, these shoes were an epic bargain as well, at $4.99. I guess I do care a lot about money.

Also, Jasen just read this over my shoulder and said he’s glad he has green eyes.

It's a Jungle

Dress: Anthropologie from a swap with Natasha
Belt: vintage
Shoes: Jessica Simpson
Lipstick: Revlon Fire & Ice

I felt pretty guilty taking this Anthropologie dress from my friend Natasha in a little clothing swap we had recently, but I think she was happy with what I gave her in return. Natasha, if you want this back at some point, I’ll understand.

This dress doesn’t really need any accessories, but I decided to try on some different belts with it and loved how this coral one stood out. I felt like it also gave the dress a little more polish for work. (I wore a plain black cardigan to the office too.)

Knots and Dots

Shirt: thrifted Harvé Bénard
Skirt: Forever 21
Shoes: thrifted Jazzberry
Lipstick: Revlon Fire & Ice

I remember thinking years ago that knotting a shirt was lame, and now I do it all the time. I think it can be about as flattering as a belt, and it’s a nice alternative to tucking a blouse in to get a line at the natural waist. I’m also obsessed with polka dots, which I’ve never considered lame, even when my sister told me they were once when we were younger. I’m a polka dots woman all the way. Stripes are cool, too, but I think I’ll be wearing dots until I die.

1 Skirt 4 Ways

One of the best things about a colorful skirt is that it goes with everything. I found this one at Goodwill in Pasadena, and it originally fell just below the knee on me. It looked okay like that, but I had it shortened because I figured I’d wear it more.

Skirty 30
This outfit reminds me that I need to find a new mustard or golden yellow top. This one got too worn out and had to go. Fortunately this color should be around a lot for fall!

Thrifted Thursday No. 12
I like how the mint blouse here picks up the teal from the skirt but in a lighter shade, and there’s something similar going on with the maroon in the skirt and the red shoes.

Jewel Tones
This outfit is a little more matchy-matchy. I’ve since sold the silver top I’m wearing here because it had a weird little boob pocket that I couldn’t get over, but now I kind of regret it.

Odd Ones Out
And finally, with pink! Why am I holding this skirt out to the side in three of these photos? I don’t know, I guess it’s just the kind of skirt that makes you want to do that.

Floral Meets Coral

Romper: thrifted Wet Seal
Skirt: thrifted Banana Republic
Shoes: Target

Rompers are already kind of impractical and layering a skirt on top of one is probably kind of ridiculous, but I tend to have a hard time pairing different tops with this skirt and was happy to see that this romper looked pretty good with it. This romper also has a cool plunging back that I tried to show off for the camera, but all the photos turned out super lame and awkward looking. I need to practice back shots!

Thrifted Thursday No. 38

Top: thrifted Old Navy
Cardigan: thrifted Muni Basic
Skirt: thrifted vintage
Shoes: thrifted vintage Howard Fox
Lipstick: Revlon Love that Red

I’m glad this is a Thrifted Thursday post because I just worked an 11-hour day and I am way too tired to write a creative title. At least tomorrow is Friday!

I’ve found that I really like black and blue together. This top has been sitting in my closet forever without getting worn, even though I think it’s cute. When I bought it at Quality Thrift, my sister said it was “meh,” so I think I’ve been avoiding it out of insecurity. Well, it is just an Old Navy top, but I love the color and polka dots in general.
