Mime Schoolgirl?

Top: White House, Black Market from a swap with Natasha
Skirt: J. Crew from Buffalo Exchange
Shoes: Aldo
Lipstick: Aveda Cana

I’d been searching for a short-ish (but not too short) black pleated skirt and was excited to come across this one at Buffalo Exchange! I traded older clothes for it, too, and didn’t spend a dime.

I tend to bring the same clothes to Crossroads and Buffalo Exchange over and over again if they don’t sell, with different things mixed in each time, and for most items it’s just a matter of time. I remember there was this one sundress that I took to those stores five times before Buffalo Exchange finally bought it. I’m not that annoying person who brings a giant trash bag of clothes or two, by the way. I keep it to one shopping bag or an organza sack left over from when I worked at MyShape. (We used to send out all the orders in them.)

So, yeah, this outfit is kind of a cross between mime and schoolgirl. I’ve been into black and white more lately, especially for work…though technically the light stripes on this top are a very pale pink. Sometimes I feel like I look French in a really corny way, but then I think, “Eh, what’s wrong with that?”

  1. i really think you can never go wrong with simple black and white. love the cut of that black and white top.

  2. love this look. stripe and pleats is always a winner.

  3. This is perfectly classy and adorable. You can't go wrong with black and white stripes! This pleated skirt is perfect too. I have a similar one I thrifted but mine is a little longer I think. This reminds me that I need to wear it!

  4. Love that skirt
