Schoolteacherish

Cardigan: Nordstrom
Top: Nordstrom Rack
Skirt: thrifted
Shoes: Target

As I was looking through my photos from today just now, I kept getting this, like, hardened elementary schoolteacher vibe. I look really tired and crabby in most of them, probably because they were taken at 6:45 in the morning! I’ve decided to switch to an early work schedule instead of a late one because the late shift wasn’t helping too much traffic-wise in the evenings and I wasn’t getting home until 8:30.

I still can’t believe it takes two hours to travel 25 miles in L.A. traffic. We have some trains in the city, and it’s easy to get downtown from Pasadena by train, but unfortunately there aren’t any train stations near my office, which is on the west side. If there were, I would sooo be taking public transportation.

Now that I’ve complained about traffic AGAIN (sorry), I will say that at least I liked my outfit today. And someone at work complimented it. Yay! It’s pretty similar to this outfit with the olive pleated skirt and other fall colors...so I felt kind of lame for practically repeating the same look, but I guess it’s different enough. I’m dying to go shopping for some new clothes, though, especially sweaters. Although I’ve been trying to wait for my first two-week paycheck, I think I might buy some things this weekend.

  2. Sorry to hear about the crappy commute. I wouldn't want to be stuck in a car for 2 hours each day.
But you look cute in your outfit, though! I don't think you look angry haha. I like the colors in this one. They pair really nicely together.

  5. It does take that long! My first commute here was 11 miles and it took an hour. That's why I am so uptight when I see jobs and they are like 30 miles away- it's just like NO. Worse because I like side streets, I would die!

If you end up needing clothing company, let me know! I have a top and skirt quest I would like to embark on, haha.

  7. Love this skirt! We've had some traffic problems in my town lately but nothing like this. I've heard L.A. traffic is the worst now I get it.

  12. i am a teacher, and i'm pretty sure i never look this cute at school.
traffic sucks. i think i'd take a job at my current school, which is 35 miles away simply because there are less-trafficky roads to take. i've almost always commuted to boulder, which is technically closer but the traffic is HIDEOUS and constantly made me angry. i feel for you. i wish southern california had better public transport.
