Lakers Lady

Top: Urban Outfitters
Necklace: belonged to my grandmother
Skirt: thrifted
Shoes: Target

I’ve had this top for months, and this is the first time I’ve worn it. I really don’t have any good reason for that. I kept wanting to pair it with this skirt and then thinking that would be weird because it would look like I’m wearing Lakers colors. I don’t follow basketball at all, even though it was on T.V. all the time in my house when I was growing up. But so what? I think these colors look good together.

Thrifted Thursday No. 22

Sweater, skirt and shoes: thrifted

When I saw this skirt flung over a rack in the long-sleeved shirts section at Goodwill, I immediately thought, “Forever 21.” Yep, sure enough, it is from them. And it was everything I was looking for — colorful, lightweight, machine washable — plus it had a green tag on a day when all green tag items were 50% off, so I was able to get it for $2.50.

PS: I nearly died laughing at this after my friend Jessica posted it on Facebook this morning. Maybe you’ve seen it before, but if not, enjoy!

Bows to Show

Dress: H&M
Shoes: thrifted
Sunglasses: Urban Outfitters

This is the H&M bow-print dress that I bought last week! It is unbelievably, disgustingly hot today, so it seemed like a good day to wear it. I normally avoid spaghetti straps, but when I tried this dress on, I had to have it because I thought the silhouette and print were so cute.

I also think this dress has great layering potential. I can see it as a skirt, as a top, with a cardigan or pullover sweater and maybe even layered over a blouse. And for once I’m wearing something that you might still be able to find in stores! There were only two of these dresses left at the Pasadena H&M; however, I would imagine their stock sells out more quickly than average in Pasadena.

You probably can’t tell, but I’m also wearing a new shade of lipstick. It’s Revlon’s Fire & Ice, which I learned from a YouTube video is very similar to Mac’s Lady Danger shade, which I would still like to try as well. I’ll have to take a close-up photo when I’m wearing it sometime because I really like it. It’s a bright red with a hint of orange.

Mint Before Labor Day

Blouse: thrifted
Pin: gift from my aunt
Skirt: thrifted
Shoes: thrifted

I like green and yellow together, so I figured mint and cream would also work pretty well. I think this skirt is challenging my olive pleated skirt for the number one skirt spot in my wardrobe. I love the print more each time I wear it!

I hope you all enjoy your Labor Day weekend!

Thrifted Thursday No. 21

Dress, belt, shoes and bag: thrifted

Yay, it’s September, my birthday month! That means Urban Outfitters sent me a coupon code today for 20% off my next order. I might have to buy these shoes that I’ve been obsessing over all summer. I want them in yellow...and teal, but my size is sold out in teal. Does anyone else have these shoes? What do you think? They weren’t in stock at my local store.

Well, anyway, here is another Thrifted Thursday outfit! I would usually be a little hesitant to wear leopard print all over like this, but since this dress is empire waisted and doesn’t really have a clingy silhouette, I feel like it works. It seems more “cute” than “sexy” to me. At least I hope that’s how it comes across!
