Wind Pinned

Cardigan: J.J. Basics
Skirt: thrifted
Shoes: Target
Pin: belonged to my grandmother

Isn’t this pin neat? It belonged to my mom’s mother. I’m not sure if I’m wearing it right side up, but I liked it this way. It makes me think of the wind or wings.

I hope you all have nice weekend plans! I’m going to a barbecue tomorrow afternoon and have no idea what I’m doing Sunday, which is my ideal weekend: one planned day, one unstructured day. Not that it matters much since I’m still unemployed, although during the week I stay pretty busy applying for jobs, cleaning, running errands and thrifting for the Etsy shop I would like to start eventually.

Yeah, I figured I’d just come out and say it. Like many other thrifting-addicted bloggers, I want to start an Etsy shop for vintage clothing. I’ve collected 12 items for it so far, and I’d like to open the shop once I have at least 20. I’m nervous, though, mainly about making sure I portray the clothing accurately and keeping shipping costs down.

  1. i'd shop at your etsy store!
    i love this outfit.

  2. I'd shop at your etsy store in a hot minute. No joke. Your thrifting eye is just amazing.

And I love your pin. Jewelry/clothing is loads more fun when it has a story behind it. I've been wanting a vintage apron for a while now, but none that I found seemed "just right." Then, a couple days ago, my mom was digging through some of my grandma's stuff and found the sweetest little apron with random images accompanied by words in French (fish, castles, etc.) Perfect!

  3. #1. I like the pin.

    #2. Nice stems ;)

  4. I agree, you have an amazing eye for thrifting. Your Etsy store is going to be unique :)
I love that pin, I have a couple that was passed down to me from my grandma. I love them so much.

  5. It's actually sort of awesome that you don't know which way is up :) Lovely outfit as usual. Love the color of your cardigan.

  6. That pin is so pretty! I think they need to make a big comeback. My mom has so many cool ones I could borrow.

  7. GoodLuck with your Etsy store just keep it your style and it will be amazing.

  8. I've toyed with the idea of opening an Etsy shop, too. Though I'm not sure if I want to sell vintage clothes or photo prints/cards - maybe both! Good luck with yours! :)

I love your palette of blues here. Your grandmother's pin is gorgeous and does have a resemblance to wind. I like when pins can be worn in different angles and still look new and fresh.

  9. Oh my gosh! This blog, and you, are the cutest things ever. You have amazing fashion sense!!!

  10. I love this outfit! All your skirts are so pretty!

  11. I think you'll do fine with an Etsy shop. You've written copy for clothing professionally, so you'll probably convey the product better than 99% of sellers out there from the get-go. I have a bunch of friends with Etsy accounts if you end up having questions, I can see if any of them have advice.
