Yesterday Jasen and I took the Metro Gold Line from Pasadena to Chinatown for the Lunar New Year celebration! Yep, we were both corny and dressed in red. A police officer offered to take the photo of us together, which was a sweet surprise because I thought she and her partner were going to make us stop taking photos by the guardian lions that we found in a somewhat deserted area. I’ve posted several photos of the festivities, most of the parade, below. The whole celebration was pretty amazing, with dragon and lion dances, acrobats, kung fu demonstrations and lots of food stands and food trucks. And it only cost $1.50 each way to go there on the shiny, clean Gold Line, so a total of $6.00 for the two of us in all. We’ll be taking the Gold Line downtown more often!
