Black and Tan

Dress: thrifted
Bag: won from Audrey’s Loehmann’s giveaway
Shoes: Target

My outfit today was inspired by this post from Bethany’s blog, Bunny Picnic! My mom found the dress I’m wearing in a thrift shop in Colorado and gave it to me the last time she was in California. As soon as I saw Bethany style her black and white dress up with tan accessories, I knew I had to try the same approach with mine.

I’m sorry these photos are so hazy, though. I didn’t realize the light was getting low enough to mess with my old camera. If I get the new job (still no word...yikes!), I’m buying a better camera for sure. That’s at the top of my list, which also includes an Etsy shopping spree, a pair of Seychelles and the perfect rusty ASOS sweater that Annebeth is wearing here.

PS: Can you spot Zeus in the top photo? I didn't even notice him until I inserted the image into the blog post!

PPS: Ack! I forgot to mention it yesterday, but Michelle of Hot Pink Combat Boots has featured me in this post on her blog! Her blog is really cool and fun and chronicles her adventures as an American in Europe. Thanks again, Michelle!

  2. colorado? yay! is it vintage? it looks very 1940s. i have a black polka dot dress that i love, but once i wore it to a funeral, so now i think of it as a funeral dress...

When I read your blog title I thought about the drink 'black & tan' which I haven't had in a long time but wasn't a huge fan of. I thought you might be talking beer on your blog.

  21. @Courtney: The dress is a Liz Claiborne from the '80s, but yeah, I think it looks '40s too! I like how the shoulders are kind of squared off but not padded.
