I feel more satisfied with this outfit than I have with any of my outfits in a while. Isn’t it weird how some days you can put together an outfit you like pretty easily and other days there’s some sort of creative block?
It’s probably been harder for me to concentrate on what to wear lately since I’ve constantly been thinking about the job I’ve been interviewing for. It looks like I’m going to be hired at this point, as long as my references check out, so I can finally relax a little. I haven’t gotten an offer yet, but my second in-person interview yesterday went well, and apparently the background check is the final step in the process.
I know some of you are curious about which company I’m trying to get into, and I wish I could mention it, but even if I start working there I’ll need to ask for permission before revealing anything. They’re a pretty major brand, and of course if I were to mention them on my blog, I’d become associated with them, etc.
That said, well, yeah, I’m pretty darn excited about this! I’ve been searching for the right full-time position for over nine months after being laid off. I’m happy I’ve had time to get a blog and Etsy shop started, and I definitely do not intend to abandon those things, but I will be beyond thrilled to no longer rely on unemployment insurance.
I am soooooooooooo excited for you! I just know you're going to get it! And then we go out for an imaginary celebration drink! The fact that they are checking references now is a very good sign, and I am so proud of you! Woohoo! I know you can't talk much about it, but it sounds like such a cool opportunity! Woohoo again!
ReplyDeleteCongrats, so happy for you. It's even more exciting because it's something you really, really want :)
ReplyDeleteYAYAYAYA! I'm so excited! Email me when you know for sure! :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Heather!! I can feel your happiness and excitement from your photos. There's just something different about your expression and I'm so happy for you! :)
ReplyDeleteThis skirt is fantastic. Love it on you.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the interview! I hope you get the job you are trying for (even if you can never tell us ;)
Exciting! I hope it all works out :)
ReplyDeleteLovely outfit. I'm definitely claiming it as a new favorite. The silhouette and colors are perfect. It's great how one outfit can make you feel amazing and make up for lackluster wardrobe creativity all at once!
Can't wait to know if you get it, fingers crossed!
ReplyDeleteps: that top is amazing!!

ReplyDeleteI can see why you like this combination, each piece is great on it's on but together they look perfect.

congratulations! that is great news! also, this outfit is adorable. that shirt with the bow is perfect!
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty mix of colors! And congrats on the job! I know what you mean, some days I can quickly some up with 3 or 4 outfits I love, and other days I just hate everything! So I try to set out a few days worth on days when my outfit mojo is working!
ReplyDeleteI think you've got this job in the bag! Whoever the company is they would be lucky to have you.
ReplyDeleteHooray for almost getting the new job! I'm so happy for you!
ReplyDeleteYou look adorable in this outfit too. I really love that top with the bow detail. The mix of green and yellow is really pretty too.
this outfit is kind of perfect. i love the colors, and it's very autumn in southern california. i'm sure you'll get the job! i had those same shoes! but i sold them to my sister because i never wear heels.
ReplyDeletei really hope you get the job. (sounds like you will.) :)
ReplyDeleteyou really look beautiful .. that yellow skirt is perfect with the grey top.
have a wonderful rest of the week!!
How exciting - I'll send positive thoughts your way. I know what you mean about unemployment. It's a wonderful saver in bad circumstances, but it takes its toll on your ego.
ReplyDeleteLove that you kept busy by setting up your blog and etsy - I did the same thing a year ago and it worked out wonderfully. Online stores are TIME CONSUMING.
I'm posting your wonderful 60's outfit on my blog today. It should be up within the hour.
xoxo

Ha,I just saw you over at Hot Pink Combat Boots, and you looked divine!!!
ReplyDeleteI do hope you are successful in your job pursuit, you look scrummy enough to get it on the spot!X
Such an adorable top!
ReplyDeleteAnd that's fabulous soon-to-be-news about the job!
I'm crossing fingers for you Heather! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is a very nice outfit, and I agree with you, sometimes, the outfits I put more thought into are the ones I like less and vice versa, the easiest ones are usually the best!
Yay! Congrats. What a good feeling that must be. It's great that you were able to do such fun and productive things with your time off. I started my Etsy shop when I was working at the publishing company. I hated that job. It was in the legal department though.
ReplyDeleteHope this job turns out to be a great fit. I'm also glad you'll keep up with the blog, which is definitely one of my favorites!
i've got my fingers crossed for you.
ReplyDeletei LOVE that top - i think i've told you that before. i so rarely have luck at forever 21 that i've stopped looking, but every now and then they make something that manages to look about 10x more expensive than it is, and i think this is definitely one of those pieces.
I love this! My sister has quite a similar skirt, but it is all kinds of awesome with this top, which I never would have thought to pair it with...
