Dragonfly

Dress: Forever 21
Pin: belonged to my grandmother
Bag: thrifted
Shoes: Urban Outfitters

Jasen and I are about to go next door for our neighbor’s birthday party, so I thought I’d post this really quickly before the party starts! This dragonfly pin that I’m wearing belonged to my mom’s mom, my Grandma Virginia. I’ve never worn it before, but I liked the idea of wearing it with this summery dress today.

I also have to share a couple food photos:

A while back, Jasen found this abandoned hibachi (well, I think it’s a hibachi...that’s what we’ve been calling it) on the patio of our apartment complex. He asked around, and everyone said it didn’t belong to them, so he cleaned it up and we’ve been using it lately. Today he made us a variation on chicken satay for lunch!

  1. That is such a good idea for a pin, it makes it look like a little belt! That color is super pretty on you :) And that's awesome about your free grill! It was just waiting for a good home!

    Happy weekend, my dear!

  2. O my goodness. My boyfriend bought a tabletop version of this last summer and for two weeks, he insisted on cooking everything on it! Cute little red dress. Perfect for a summer party!

Your grandmother's pin is beautiful and looks really good where you placed it. I love when people get creative with brooches and pins.

  8. Chicken satay is delicious! My favorite part is the peanut sauce. I could eat that stuff like soup. Also, I love the idea of the pin on your waist. Such a nice, light accessory for summer.
