Thrifted Thursday No. 17

Blouse, skirt, belt, shoes and bag: thrifted

I made $25.20 selling clothes at Crossroads today! I’m pretty happy about this because I wasn’t expecting to sell anything. Their website says they’re buying for fall, so I brought in some fall items, but I had my doubts about my local store because it’s still so hot here. They decided to take some of my things, though!

I needed something good to happen today since I’m feeling pretty blah about still not having a full-time job, especially with my 30th birthday coming up next month. Oh well, back to the job search sites...

  4. That's great that you were able to make some money at Crossroads! And I'm sure you'll find a job soon :)

  5. i always have such bad luck with those places, but maybe it's time i try again.

i can definitely empathize on the job hunt. i was unemployed for several months right when i met sam, and he is currently in your position. you're obviously a smart lady and know this already, but make the most of it - i did a lot of cooking, and other projects like sewing and home improvement that don't cost much but filled my days and made me feel like i was at least being productive in some way. sam's been taking improv classes and fixing up and selling bikes on craigslist. you'll be fine! let yourself relax and enjoy your weekend!

. . . and as always, love the outfit. can't get enough of pleats.

  6. Ooo congrats on the sale! We have a store here called Clothes Mentor (I think it's a chain...maybe you have one, too?), and I'm all about going through my closet every so often and making some cash! I LOVE your pleated skirt...I've been looking high and low but still haven't found the perfect one.

  8. Ooh, what a darling blouse. I really like the color. Heck, I really like the whole outfit.

We don't have and Crossroads here, but we have Plato's Closet. I try not to get my hopes up when I go there (I find their buying practices to be contradictory), but it is exciting on the occasion that I leave with more money than I went in with!

Good luck with the job search. Try not to let it get you down too much. Focus your energy positively and all will end well :)

  10. Adorable outfit and well done on selling some of your clothes... I should do that.

I'll be 28 in two months and I'm sure I'll only be partially employed, and even my sister said "you should have babies soon" (wtf) which is NOT going to happen. So yeah. Birthdays are evil. Societal pressure. Pffff
