Out to Brunch

Top: Anthropologie
Camisole: Forever 21
Skirt: thrifted and shortened
Bag: thrifted
Shoes: Target

Jasen and I just had a busy weekend, which was great, but I’m kind of hoping that next weekend I’ll have nothing at all to do because I’m so tired! We spent Saturday doing chores and running errands, then went to a party at our friends’ house where we drank beer and cider, ate way too many Trader Joe’s appetizers, watched The Shining and played The Beatles Rock Band. Today Jasen and I took his mom out to brunch for her birthday at Walter’s in Claremont, and after that I went to visit my aunt, uncle and cousin.

I’d never worn this top with my cameo skirt before, and I really liked how they looked together. I’m not such a fan of how the camisole looks under the top, though. I wish I had the guts to just wear a bra under the top, but I would feel so inappropriate because of the top’s sheerness. Maybe I should try to find a camisole that matches the shade of this top...I think that might look a little better.

  4. Maybe you can dye something to a similar shade? If you can't find a similar color red. I think the white underneath is kind of cute, I love it with the cameo skirt.

  6. I love love that skirt!!! And the undershirt doesn't look bad, but I'm the same when you can see an undershirt! Look so put together as always!

  7. Your blouse and skirt do look lovely together. The blouse appears to have some very nice detail to it (and a great sleeve length). I'm convinced that skirt can do no wrong :)

  8. Ah, that skirt! I love it more and more every time you wear it! And the detailing on that blouse is really beautiful--very 20's/30's. I agree that a pink camisole might be a little cleaner, but you still look classy and stylish as always. :)

  9. I really like this pairing too. I don't mind the cami it kind of looks like the skit is a dress with a sweater over it, but also think a similarly coloured one would be really pretty too!

  10. Oh wow...such a pretty skirt - I love anything cameo related. I don't have the guts to do the sheer/bra combo either so I'd probably just opt for a cameo in as close a colour to the top as possible. Sounds like a crazy weekend requiring a subsequent two days off just to recover :)

  11. That's a very fun skirt, so unique! I've been wondering how to wear my sheer blouses too, since I don't feel comfortably with my bra showing but think camis can look clunky. You look GREAT though, I would have never thought twice--good styling.
